Angela Kim

Angela Kim is an active pianist and chamber musician at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, who has performed across Australia and won first prizes at numerous Australian Eisteddfods as well as in Europe, Korea, and USA for her recitals. She studied under Professor Daniel Herskovitch, Professor Gerard Willems and Dr Kirill Monorosi.

Angela began to launch an international career in 2017 as she received first prize recipient for 2017 Grand Virtuoso International Competition and was nominated to perform at the Mozarteum, Salzburg, Austria. She also received first prize in the at the Golden Classical Music Awards New York International Competition 2018 at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York. She also performed solo at the HSC Encore showcase in the Sydney Opera House in 2018 as she gained full marks in both her HSC Music 2 and Extension course.

Other accolades include Diploma for Licentiate in Music (LMus), and First prizes in ‘Great Composers Global Competition’ and ‘Enkor International Music Competition’.

Angela is a piano teacher at Santa Sabina College, and has been teaching piano, violin, viola, and accompanying numerous students for their HSC, IB and AMEB exams and performances. She is a highly motivated and patient individual who is looking forward to teaching and guiding students with excellence through passion, and initiative. Her experience aligns well with encouraging music students of all ages, especially younger children, for their passion for music through improving their repertoire and the technique, whilst making it enjoyable. Her passion for teaching stems from giving people the opportunity to develop and realize their own goals and potential with music. She believes everyone can be an amazing musician as they all have their own musicality and expression.
