Alexander Poirier

Alexander specialises in Musicology and Ethnomusicology at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He has taught numerous students in undertaking their Music Theory and Musicianship Exams and takes great pride in all his students.

He has a passion for investigating the relationship between music and language, with a particular interest in the cultures of Eastern Asia, Western Africa, and Medieval Europe. He recently founded the University of Sydney Chinese Orchestra, the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, and is heavily involved in the musicological life at the University.
